WHY Sole Beauty??

When I was in my 20’s I started to experience discomfort, redness, and irritation on my face and body. Started developing keratosis pilaris in my arms, my legs were REALLY dry and my face started to get blotchy and itchy… To be honest, I wasn’t paying that much attention to what I was putting in my skin…

Mild swelling or puffiness, particularly around the eyes or on the cheeks

Understanding Sensitive Skin

Sensitive skin is a common condition characterized by heightened reactivity to various environmental and topical factors. When I was little I was sheltered from all the ingredients that are our there since my mother created most of our skin care products at home, so other than maye shampoo I knew exactly what was in those jars.

Once I became a health coach and a mom I started coming back to my roots.

My beautiful daughter had inherit my skin and I started seeing problems with her as a baby and I was NOT going to let that happened…

After all our skin is the biggest organ we have, not only that but that is one of the most permeable ones and that I was probably putting things that could affect this but I wasn’t aware of what.

And I am not sure if you have done a deep dive on ingredients in the internet … but that is SCARY!!! And overwhelming … So I decided to do the one thing I could think of …

Take a page from my mom’s book and create my own products!!! I was going to spend way less time purchasing the ingredients and creating the recipes than understanding every single ingredient that most websites hide on their products.

Caring for Sensitive Skin

Managing sensitive skin requires a gentle and mindful approach to skincare. Here are some tips to help care for sensitive skin:

  • Choose Gentle Products: Opt for skincare products labeled as hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, and formulated for sensitive skin. Look for soothing ingredients like aloe vera, chamomile, and calendula.
  • Patch Test New Products: Before using a new product, perform a patch test on a small area of skin to check for any adverse reactions.
  • Avoid Harsh Ingredients: Steer clear of products containing alcohol, synthetic fragrances, sulfates, and parabens. These can irritate sensitive skin and exacerbate symptoms.
  • Moisturize Regularly: Keep your skin well-hydrated with a gentle, non-comedogenic moisturizer. Moisturizing helps to strengthen the skin’s natural barrier and prevent dryness.
  • Be Gentle: Avoid harsh scrubbing or using abrasive exfoliants. Instead, use gentle cleansing techniques and soft washcloths.
  • Watch Your Diet: Maintain a healthy diet rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
  • Consult a Dermatologist: If you have persistent or severe symptoms, seek advice from a dermatologist. They can provide personalized recommendations and treatments to manage sensitive skin effectively.
